@
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Venue:

Founders Field
101 Eisele Road
Cheswick, Pa. 15024

All Coaches ― please send Bill Brownley < billbrownley@aol.com  > and the age grade managers a list of the players you think should be strongly considered, along with year of birth, position, experience, club, height and weight, and what makes them standout.

We try to be inclusive rather than exclusive; last year we took 30 boys in each age grade, and everyone played.  However, it helps to have some picture for the selection trials of who were are looking at and why.  If you come to the trials you can talk to the appropriate age grade manager about kids you are particularly interested in.

The following forms are required to be filled out by the players.

Download, print, and complete the following 'pdf' forms:-

Coaches ― we need you to have your players fill these out, including CIPP number, including photo ID, neatly, and delivered to the Age Grade Manager for your players age grade.  This must be done prior to the selection trials Sunday the 13th of June.  They may bring them with them to the trials.

IF PLAYERS DO NOT BRING THE REQUIRED FORMS WITH THEM, FILLED OUT COMPLETELY, THEY WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN THE TRIALS AND THEREFORE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR SELECTION TO PITTSBURGH.  WE CANNOT MAKE EXCEPTIONS.

Additionally, we have lost a significant portion of our funding from the National Guard.  This is a nationwide issue for all Guard sponsored rugby.  Therefore we need every player who is trying out to pay a fee of $50.00.

This should also be brought to the Trials.  Checks can be made out to Rugby Virginia.

If you have a particular player that needs a scholarship, and you as his coach are not willing to scholarship him, then please let Bill Brownley know in advance and we will consider scholarships for those players.

The money goes to equipment, uniforms, fees, hotel, travel, meals, coaching etc.  We believe this will be the only cost to the players, so once again meals and hotel costs will be primarily born by RV.
